Phyllis Aughinbaugh Obituary
She was born in Oakwood, Ohio on Oct. 17, 1937, the daughter of Merle C. Maddock and Ruth (Friend) Maddock.
Phyllis was a graduate of Holgate High School in Holgate, Ohio. She went on to study business. She worked for Aughinbaugh Tax Service in North Manchester during the 1970s and 1980s.
She was a member of First Brethren Church of North Manchester; a member of the First Baptist Church of Rensselaer; and attended Tri-County Bible Church in recent years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafts. She loved being a grandma.
Phyllis is survived by six children, Jerry (Cindy) Aughinbaugh, Randy Aughinbaugh, Michael (Pepsy) Nagel, Mark (Vickie) Aughinbaugh, Jeffrey (Dawn) Aughinbaugh and Nora Hopper; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Norman Maddock and Maurice Maddock; sister-in-law, Delores Aughinbaugh; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin J. Aughinbaugh; daughter, Sharon Wolfe; great-grandson, Nathan Strong; and sister Carolyn Kruse.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9 from noon until time of the funeral at 2 p.m. (CDT) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Pastor Dan Warren officiating.
Burial will be Thursday, April 10 at 1 p.m. (EDT) at Eel River Cemetery in Silver Lake.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
