Anthony "Tony" Poye, 73, of Shallotte, NC died, Sunday, July 22, 2012 in the New Hanover Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, July 25, 2012, in the chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service. Entombment will follow in the Brunswick Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 PM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Brunswick Funeral Service & Crematory, Shallotte, NC.

Dear Ellen and Family, Ron and I would like to express our sympathy on the passing of Tony. Ron has many good memories of the times they spent as canine officers on the BPPD. Also, more recent, we both remember the nice evening we spent together in Myrtle Beach at the "German Restaurant" reminicsing about times past. Dear Ellen, Donna, Susie, and Tony,
I am saddened by the news of Sonny's sudden passing and my thoughts and prayers are with you all and all of your extended family. I have very good memories of you all and how much you all meant to my mother. Sonny would always make Fran smile and laugh as he had a way of making her feel special and always welcome. Please know Sonny is thought of often and fondly.

My uncle....gone too soon. I loved him for all these years from a distance and remembered many fun family memories. Miss my cousins deeply. So sad I couldn't be there, but send my heartfelt condolences and prayers for all of you - miss you! Still love you!
