Bert Hickman Obituary
She was born in Horry County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Lucian and Viola Cox Norris. Mrs. Hickman was a member of Tabor City, N.C., Baptist Church for over 50 years and for many years worked and taught in the youth department. She was a charter member of the Dirt Daubers Club of Tabor City, N.C., an active member of the order of Eastern Star Loris Chapter 106 for many years, and a charter member of the M.L.C. Shrine club auxiliary at Myrtle Beach as secretary for years.
Surviving are two sons, Stuart Hickman of Greer, and Steve R. ''Boo'' Hickman and his wife, Kim, of Loris; daughter, Shirley H. Campbell and her husband, Richard M., of Summerville; one brother, Henry F. Norris and wife, Marie, of Loris; two sisters, Gladys Jernigan of Whiteville, N.C., and Patricia Harris and her husband, Gill, of Columbus, Miss.; six grandchildren, Jonathan Hickman and wife, Lori, Rachel Snyder and husband, Bart, Leah Hickman, Mike Campbell, Blair Campbell, and Emily Hickman; and two great-grandchildren, Darien and Noah Hickman.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 in Tabor City Baptist Church, with entombment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Tabor City, N.C. Visitation is prior to the service, from 10 until 11 a.m., in the church.

She was such a delightful lady and will be so missed, especially in the Tabor-Loris area. The best part of the drive to Loris and/or the beach was turning my head to the right and admiring her beautiful yard. She always had something in bloom. I also remember how she worked so hard at church. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
