Dear Blake and Mrs. Rice,
So sorry to hear of Duke's passing. Steve and I were out of town in Daytona at that time so I did not get the newspapers that week and did not know till I just read the e-mail. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Steve lost both of his parents in the last year and a half so we really feel for you.
Loving thoughts to both of you,
Sharon and Steve kemerer

Dottie,
I just learned of Duke's passing this week when I talked with Saundra. I know that the journey of the past few years were difficult for both of you. You are very much in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you can find comfort in knowing that Duke is at peace.
Love,
Betty

Dear Mrs.Rice,
I am an ultrasound tech at Waccamaw community Hospital- I saw your husband about every 2 to 3 weeks for his procedures and I so enjoyed visiting with him as we were performing his exam. He was always a joy to talk to and was always upbeat and smiling. He will be missed by our department.
My heart goes out to you and your family.

Dot and Family,
Eric and I are so sorry to hear about your loss. I know the alumni group enjoyed knowing him, and were honored to have him in Myrtle Beach. Our best to you and your family. Always know you are welcome to be part of the Hokie family. We hope to see you in the future when you are ready.
Sincerely,

I me duke last summer in person after we corresponded on the tech website. i am a UVA grad, but I knew Chuck noe, jimmy graves, and lewis mills and had UVa pals from St. X.
we enjoyed a wonderful visit talking basketball. although he was 20 years my elder, we were united by love of the game and our mutual friends. I counted him as one. he was a fine man who stood for all that is good about sports. A true kentucky/virginia gentleman. I am proud to have know him and I will miss his posts. I was looking forward to another visit this year. God bless you all.
