Cynthia Suzanne Anholzer, age 55, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away peacefully with her loving family and friends by her side on Saturday, April 6, after a courageous seven-week battle with adrenal cancer. Cindy was born in Appleton, WI, on December 21, 1957, to William and Joanne (Sullivan) Groth. She married Dave Anholzer in 1981 in Appleton, WI. They were happily married for nearly 32 years. Cindy graduated with the class of 1976 at Appleton East High School. She was highly respected and enjoyed a long career in the hospital systems beginning at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton, WI, and most recently at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, SC. She enjoyed traveling and contributing to her family businesses.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Groth; her grandparents; and her great grandparents.
Cindy will be sadly missed by her spouse, Dave, of Myrtle Beach, SC; her son, Bill, of St. Paul, MN; her daughter, Dr. Dana (Neil) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her father, William Groth, of Kimberly, WI; her brother, Jim Groth, of Menasha, WI; her lifelong friend, Connie (Paul) Hubbard, of Appleton, WI; her uncle Norm (Jackie) and her aunt Gail; her sisters-in-law Mary Kay (Dan) and Kathy (Scott); her brothers-in-law Jim (Ann) and Mike(Beth); her nieces, nephews, and other relatives; and her many, many friends.
At Cindy's request, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Millie Schembechler Memorial, http://www.cancer.med.umich.edu/cancertreat/endocrine/adrenal_cancer_donations.shtml. Condolences may be left on Cindy's online guest book at grandstrandfuneralhome.net or her Facebook page. Cindy will be sorely missed and will be forever in our hearts.
Grand Strand Funeral Home and Crematory are serving the family.

I grew up with Cindy. She was my best friend in the young impressionable years. I was always inspired by her quiet strength. For some reason she popped in to my thoughts a few days ago. I remembered her, her mother and father, the basement where we "hung out" as kids and even the day when her father quietly walked down the stairs of the basement where we were listening to Frank Zappa and "The Mothers at the Fillmore East" album. He took it off the player and broke it over his knee and proceeded to quietly walk back up the stairs. The very same morning of this memory, I got the call she passed. Dave and Family,
It is hard to grasp that we are not invincible. Cindy was truely her oun person and free spirit. I always admired her strength and confidence which deserves the utmost respect. It showed she loved you deeply Dave. She is a beautiful spirit in all our hearts. I can't immagine how hard it is for all of you right now but know she is now free and in your hearts until you meet again.
