Darren Demaille

1977 - 2025

The family of Darren deMaille regretfully announce his untimely death while vacationing in Key West. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Darren excelled in every sport, especially baseball and golf. A 1999 Campbell graduate and 20-year Class A PGA member, Darren honed his skills under Jack Druga at The Country Club of Fairfield, taught Jack Nicklaus's grandchildren at Florida's Bear's Club, and founded the Learning Center at The Bridge (NY). In 2016, Darren introduced the "Deane Beman Method" to SC with his Double D Golf Academy, taught Rules of Golf at the Golf Academy of America, volunteered for numerous golf accessibility programs, and instructed students in-person, online, and ultimately via his QuickFixGolf app. A three-time GRAA Top 100 Teaching Professional, Darren repeatedly won Best Golf Teacher on the Grand Strand, and was named MBACC 2021 Entrepreneur of the Year. Darren was also a thoughtful friend and trusted "Doctor," chef and Parrothead, yacht rocker, boater, and fisherman. Foremost, Darren was an extraordinary husband and devoted father who longed to watch his children grow up. Surviving Darren are children MacKenzie, Dylan, and Teighlor, adoring wife Leanne, mother Nancy, sister Meghan and nephews Cody, Nathan, and Matthew. Father Alfred and brother Patrick preceded him in death. A memorial is Sunday, October 5, 2025, 4 p.m., Wild Wing Plantation, Myrtle Beach.
