David Akel Obituary
August 24, 1961 - March 17, 2022
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina - David Essa Akel, 60, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022.
He was born on August 24, 1961 in Sumter, SC to Essa Joseph Akel and the late Lila Gazaleh Akel.
David was a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and of the University of South Carolina – Columbia. He was the owner & operator of Monte Carlo Hotel and Inigo Inn until his retirement. He was a member of Trinity Church and an avid sportsman. Robin was the love of his life along with his family, his children, and his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Robin S. Akel; father, Joe Akel; children, Lauren Akel Beard (Chandler), Joseph Akel, and Adam Hutchins (Jenny); grandchildren, Sayla Beard, Holden Beard, Colt Beard, and Owen Hutchins; siblings, Fred Akel (Lydia) and Diane Akel Platt (Heath).
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Trinity Church in Myrtle Beach. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 – 2:45 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Ocean Woods Memorial Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

To my loving family...My heart aches for you all. Though I can´t be there, I am there. I thank David eternally for breaking my nose while practicing his curve ball many years ago in my back yard. David will be missed by us all but he is in God´s memory and safe. I love you all.
