Ed was once an active member of the Ohio Council Against Health Fraud; he was always a voice for reasoning and truth in healthcare. At times we had meetings at Ed and June's house in Worthington; everytime I drive by that house even today I remember vigorous discussions and a warm ambiance. Ed was a gentleman and a gentle man, full of graciousness and support for others. He had the heart of God, and will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion.

I am sorry to hear of his passing. We enjoyed many good times while I was going thru the Officers chairs in Capital city Lodge. i was Master of Capital City twice once in 1986 and then againg in 2003.
I use to go deep sea fishing at Murrells Inlet some years ago, But didn't know he lived there.

June, your friends at Grange Life send our sincere condolences to your loss. "Doc" as we all called him was associated with Grange from its founding in 1968 as our one and only medical director. We will all miss both his wise counsel and his friendship.

My sincere condolences to "Mama June", the girls and their families. "Papa Doc" was a gentle man with the most delightful sense of humor. It was truly an honor to be granted an audience with the "King and Queen" and spend hours, or so it seemed, playing the "dictionary game".

It's hard to believe that it's been nearly 40 years ago when I was welcomed into the Hard family by Ed and June and I can't express my graditude enough for them for helping me feel at "home" while at OSU. Ed was like a father, an uncle and a friend to me and I am so glad that I had chance to see him (and June) on my golf trips to Myrtle Beach. I will miss his stiff bourbon and waters he would make for me, but most of all I will just miss him and who he was. Thanks, Ed...and say hi to my dad.

Although we will miss him greatly, Grandpa has left such a footprint on our lives with his compassion, dedication, love for family, and good humor. I have so many wonderful memories to carry with me, and to share with Alaina and Maya as they grow...."ugly pills", peanut butter captain crunch, the songs hetaught us (which have become some of my girls' favorites), and of course The King and Queen! We are so blessed to have known and loved him.

All our love,
Lisa Lou, Chris, Alaina, and Maya

Ed was a true gentleman and was loved by many. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family and those whose lives he touched. Our visits to Pawleys will not be the same without him. We send our condolences to June and the family, as well as his dog Clyde who will miss his dad (and the many treats he got from Ed).
