Edward Loehr Obituary

Edward L. Loehr, Sr.
North Myrtle Beach
Edward Lewis Loehr, Sr., 85, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 following an illness.
Mr. Loehr was an Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a retired postal employee of 31 years in Conway, SC and more recently resided in Banner Elk, NC where he was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He was a devoted and loving husband and father and enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, and visiting with family and friends.
Surviving Mr. Loehr is his wife of 61 years, Mrs. Sarah M. Loehr, two sons, Edward Loehr Jr. of North Myrtle Beach and Thomas Loehr of Chesterfield, VA, a brother, Frank Loehr of Portsmouth, VA., six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 13 with Pastor George Wright officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grandfather Home for Children in Banner Elk, NC or Tara Hall home for boys in Georgetown, SC.

I will never forget Mr. Loehr, he sang at my wedding 11-27-69 while he was a member of North Conway Baptist Church. The song he sang was "Saviour Like a Shephed Lead Us" I have thought of the song he chose to sing, how appropriate the words are for newlyweds and how beautiful it was sung. I remember Mr. and Mrs. Leohr very fondly, my sympathy to each of you
