Elizabeth Short Obituary
Myrtle Beach
Elizabeth Virginia Short age 94, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at her residence.
Born in Clay County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Leyman Ray and Susan Bernice Friend. Mrs. Short graduated from Colcord High School in Colcord, WV. She and her husband were owners/operators of Gulf Gas Station in Arlington, VA. She was a longtime member of Socastee United Methodist Church and loved her family, animals and music. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Short; two daughters, Barbara Ann Short and Kathy Ann Cerrone; a brother, Ray Shannon Friend and a sister, Wilma Gertrude Morgan.
Survivors include a daughter, Karen Short of Rockingham, VA; a grandson, Charles Shannon Cerrone of Philadelphia; a son in law, Scott Cerrone of Alexandria, VA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins; and dear friends, Jeanette Brandon, Patte and Marissa Huff and Barbara Kernes.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 27, 2015 at Hillcrest Chapel Mausoleum with Pastor Kurt McPherson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.

Mrs. Short will always be loved because she was a loving person. She has gone to a better place and there is no more pain Billy will be taken care of along with the other ducks because she loved them. Our prayers go out to the family and God will be with you. Wayne and Wanda
