Evelyn "Dee" Haddon Parks, 98, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013.
She was born September 19, 1914 in Greenville, SC, a daughter of the late Robert F. and Mable Kay Haddon. She was predeceased by her husband of seventy-seven years, Emil J. "Gabby" Parks, who passed away December 27, 2012.
Dee attended WC-UNC which is now UNC Greensboro. She and her husband moved to Myrtle Beach from Winston Salem, NC in 1979. She was a member of the Myrtle Beach Church of Christ and an avid bridge player.
Survivors include her son, Phillip Haddon Parks (Lynn) of Durham, NC, three grandchildren, Jennifer Craven (Tom), Kristin Boles (David), Gregory Parks (Christine) and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2013, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home with Steven Guy officiating. Private entombment will be at North Myrtle Beach Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Myrtle Beach Church of Christ, 4500 Wild Iris Drive, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577.
