Frank Ashby Obituary

GEORGETOWN | Frank J. ''Captain Frank'' Ashby, 70, Husband of Regina S. Ashby, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004 at his residence.





He was born June 29, 1934 in Rice, Va., a son of the late Willie James Ashby and Ethel Green King Ashby.



Mr. Ashby was a retired pattern maker and was the former owner of the top shop. He was a member of the coast guard auxillary and a former boat captain. He was a mason and a member of the Gideons. Mr. Ashby was also a member of the Bill Glass Prison Ministry. He attended Screven Baptist Church and served as a teacher of the adult sunday school class at Ringel Heights Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church.



Surviving are, his wife; three sons, Willie James Ashby of Manassas, Va., Kenneth Grant Ashby, and Frank James ''Jay'' Ashby Jr., both of Georgetown; three daughters, Beverly Ashby Etheridge, Donna Ashby Bass, and Kelly Ashby Jayroe, all of Georgetown; three brothers, William Ashby, Jessie Ashby, and John Ashby, all of Lynchburg, Va., Dot Bohanon of Sevierville, Tenn., and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Arnold Alvin Ashby.



The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004 at 4 p.m. in Screven Baptist Church. Officiating will the Rev. Wayne Ellis and the Rev. Themos Cribb. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens.
