Frederic Miscoe Obituary

INDIAN LAKE, Pa. | Dr. Frederic J. Miscoe, 71, died Thursday, March, 6, 2003, at home.

He was born Dec. 26, 1931, in Johnstown, Pa., a son of the late John an Elizabeth Skrabut Miscoe.

He was a 1949 graduate of Johnstown High School. He did his pre-med studies at the University of Maryland and was a 1954 graduate of National College of Chiropractic in Chicago. He was a 1956 graduate of Field Artillery and Air Defense Artillery Officers Candidate School in Fort Sill, Okla. He was the former commander of B Company 1st Battalion, 103rd Armor 28th Division PAARNG, Johnstown. He was a retired captain from HQ STARC Pennsylvania Army National Guard after 26 years of service. He was a member of ACA and PCA. He was former chairman of the board of the Pennsylvania Chiropractic Association. He practiced as a chiropractic physician for 43 years in Johnstown. He was an avid pilot. He was founder and first president of the Flying Chiropractors Association. He was a member of Indian Lake Golf Club and was a member St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Rector.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Constance E. Koehler; three sons, Dr. Frederic Miscoe II and his fiancee, Jean Krents, Michael Miscoe and his wife, Susan Price Miscoe, and Geoffrey Todd Miscoe and his wife, Lori Kist Miscoe; a brother, John F. Miscoe of New Brunfels, Texas; sister, Rita Schloss of Myrtle Beach; grandson, Ian; granddaughter, Kelsey and Bryanne Renae; and a special niece, Constance Conover.

The funeral was at St. Mark's Episcopal Church on Locust Street. The Rev. Charles P. Martin officiated. Burial was in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pa.

Frank Duca Funeral Home, Westmount chapel is in charge.
