Murrells Inlet, South Carolina - THOMAS, Gary A., 73, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022 surrounded by his loving family in Deptford NJ. He was of Murrells Inlet SC, formerly of South Jersey and born and raised in Chattanooga TN. There were things Gary loved in his life, but most of all, he loved his wife and family. He is the beloved husband of 53 years of Mary E. Thomas (nee Callahan). Loving father of James (Jamie) Thomas. Dearly loved Pop Pop of Tyler (Anna) Thomas, Kristin Thomas (Randy Cabrera) and Alexis Thomas. Dear GPop of Varian Cabrera, James Thomas and Arlo Carbrera. He is the brother of Sheila (Tim) Raines, the late Nancy Westmoreland and the late Robin Hatfield. Gary was a proud veteran of the USMC. He served from 1966-1970 during the Vietnam War attaining the rank of SGT (Sgt. Reddog). Gary was the self employed owner and operator of Spec-Rep Associates, Berlin for many years. He and his wife retired to Murrells Inlet SC and where he could enjoy golfing, fishing, reading and traveling with Mary. In Gary's words, "Mary was the love of my life. She didn't just change my life, she made my life." Gary will be dearly missed, most of all by Mary! Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation on Saturday from 2:30-3:30pm at the Bradley Funeral Home 601 Rt. 73 South at Evesham Road Marlton NJ 08053 where a Memorial Service will be held at 3:30pm. Please dress casually and in bright colors to honor Gary as he lived a bright full life. Please be aware that a Memorial Service will be held in South Carolina at a later date.
