Gaylon Sylvester Ross, Jr. 66 of Garden City died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at his residence. Gaylon was born October 17, 1947 in Bethesda, MD, a son of the late Gaylon Sr. and Anne H. Ross. He was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles, spending his days at the pool, and walks on the beach. He especially enjoyed his time with his friends and his cat Pouncer. He was an introverted soul who possessed a rare gift of listening to others.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Yvonne Ross and fiancé Don Butcher, Gilbert Ross and wife JoEllen, Ruth Spangler and husband Smokey, Mari Jarvis and husband Marc, Gregory Ross and wife Kelly, and Gary Ross and wife Susan. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews, three great nieces and nephews, and one great-great niece. Gaylon will be remembered and missed by his numerous friends at the Jensen's Community and the Causeway Grille. He will be especially missed by his special friend, Debbie Hager.
A Celebration of Gaylon's Life will be announced at a later date.

My condolences to the family. Gaylon was a good friend and kind to all who crossed his path. He will be missed by all of us who knew him and enjoyed being with him. His smiling presence at the pool is already missed by us all. May he rest in peace.
