Harry Bruton Obituary

TABOR CITY, N.C. | Harry Floyd Bruton Jr., 58, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at home.

He was born in Altus, Okla., a son of Belle Watts Bruton and the late Harry Floyd Bruton Sr.

He was a veteran of the Navy.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, of Loris, include his wife, Melva Dean Bruton; a son, Harry F. ''Rico'' Bruton III of North Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Medeana Jeanette Bruton of Leland, N.C.; two brothers, Ronnie Bruton of Auburn, Ala., and Timmy Bruton of Sneads Ferry, N.C.; a sister, Margaret Ward of Tabor City; and a grandson, Banks Bruton of North Myrtle Beach.

He was predeceased by a sister, Donnis McMahan.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Inman Funeral Home in Tabor City.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Dr. David Coleman will officiate. Burial will Myrtle Green Cemetery in Tabor City.

Harry was a friend, although we didn't see much of each other. He liked calling me the "sarge" because I tried keeping him and my brother straight. I salute Harry. Our regrets to all the family. Barbara and Sam Vetrano
