Ian Hunter Obituary
Murrells Inlet
Ian Andrew Hunter, Sr. age 85, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Waccamaw Community Hospital.
Born in Schenectady, NY, he was a son of the late John and Albertina Hunter. Mr. Hunter was a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired as Director of Physical Plant from Suny Cobleskill, NY and was former Trustee and Mayor of Richmondville, NY. Mr. Hunter served on the Board of Directors for Cobleskill Country Club and was a Boy Scout leader for Schenendehowa Troop #45 from 1961-1965. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #0394 in Cobleskill, NY and was a member of the Lions Club and a member of Belin Memorial United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Adair, a brother, Harvie Hunter and a sister, Nan McNamee.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Belle "Betty" Hunter; a son, Ian (Janet) Hunter, Jr. of Clifton Park, NY; daughters, Cathy (Thomas) Rightmyer of Raleigh, NC and Deborah (Ronald) Trask of Cobleskill, NY; eight grandchildren, Karen (Thomas) Holliday, Julie (Richard) Glasgow, Kristy (Scott) Huntley, Lauren (John) Comito, Jan Rightmyer, Ian Michael Hunter, Andrew Trask and Ryan Trask; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Janet Alessandrini of Clifton Park, NY and a brother, Donald Hunter of Bolingbrook, IL.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Aunt Betty, Ian, Cathy and Deb,
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Uncle Ian. He was a great man, always with a smile on his face and laughing whenever I saw him. I can just imagine what kind of trouble he and Aunt Nan are getting into now that they are back together again. You are all in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
