May 12, 1943 - February 20, 2024
Conway, South Carolina - James Robert Cox passed away on February 20, 2024, at the age of 80. He was a beloved father to his three children Michelle Cox of Los Angeles, CA, Chris Cox of Ft Worth, TX and Eric Cox of Charleston, SC. Jim was a loving and caring partner for 20 years to Judy Shrader and family NaTaysha Shrader, Jhene Sumter, Miracle and Chance McQueen of Conway. A proud grandfather to Melissa Cox of Charleston, SC, Taylor Cox of Pelham, AL, Jessica Cox-Colley of Waco, TX, Scotlan Cox of Llano, TX, Annabelle, Aiden and Jacob Cox all of Charleston, SC. He has several adorable great grandchildren Mason and Madison Queen of Charleston, Kaylie and Zachary Cox of NY, Ian Jay and Kylie of AL. Jim was born in 1943 in Baltimore, MD and grew up in Morehead, KY. His parents Scotland and Ilene Cox were Kentucky farmers. Jim attended Elliottville County School, Rowan County High School and Morehead State University. He moved to Surfside, SC in 1982 and later settled down in Conway, SC. He was a true entrepreneur and owned many businesses throughout the years. Most people in Surfside and Conway knew him from the Hudson Flea Market. Funeral services will be held at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel on February 26th at 2:00 pm. The address is 606 Beaty Street, Conway SC 29526.
