James Flowers Obituary

GEORGETOWN | James Flowers, 66, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Georgetown.

Mr. Flowers was born February 17, 1943 in Georgetown, South Carolina to the marital union between Mrs. Daisy Fraser Flowers and Walter Flowers.

He attended the public schools of Georgetown County and was a member Singleton Chapel A.M.E. Church. He worked for 26 years until retirement as a mechanic with Georgetown Steel Corporation.

Mr. Flowers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dotharine Flowers of Georgetown; his sons, James Earl Flowers, Garden Grove, Calif., Timothy Flowers, Georgetown, and Kwamane Smith, Pawleys Island; his daughters, Joyce Jackson, Monroe, N.C., Cynthia Sargent, New Castle, Del., Marticia Goodwin, Ft. Knox, Ky., and Jannette Jett, Darlington.

Funeral services for Mr. Flowers will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Singleton Chapel A.M.E. Church in the North Santee Community of Georgetown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, December 25, 2009 at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
