Dear Family, Please accept our sincere condolences. We're really at a loss for words. We met John through our daughter, Tina and son-in-law, Ralph Wilson, when he was stationed at Ft. Irwin.
He was like one of our kids. He was so affectionate and thoughtful of my mom. She loved him dearly, too. God bless you at this so very sorrowful time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the family of John Champion:
I am terribly sorry for your loss. John was a good man and one of the best NCOs that I served with. When I arrived to the 82nd Airborne Division as a young 2LT, "Sgt" Champion was a wealth of knowledge and eager to help anyone who would let him...even young naive lieutenants! I have often thought of him over the years and was hopeful with social media, like Facebook, that I would someday reconnect and have a few beers and laughs with him. His passing is tragic and the world will miss him. John and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless,
