Johnny Idol Obituary

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH | Johnny L. Idol, 72, of North Myrtle Beach, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at his home.



He was born on Oct. 11, 1932 in Richmond County, N.C., a son of the late John L. and Autan Phipps Idol.



Mr. Idol is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Parnell Idol of North Myrtle Beach; a son, Johnny ''Bubba'' Idol and his wife, Vicki, of Rockingham, N.C.; a daughter, Gloria I. Snead of North Myrtle Beach; two brothers, Thomas Idol of Rockingham, Bobby Idol of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Helen Vowels of Vine Grove, Ky., Betty Williamson of Swansboro, N.C., Shirley Chavis of Rockingham; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Glen Idol and a sister, Patsy Cook.



A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at East Rockingham Free Will Baptist Church, East Rockingham, N.C.
