Joyce Weatherford Obituary

GEORGETOWN | Joyce B. Weatherford passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in Waccamaw Community Hospital, Murrells Inlet.

She was born August 9, 1930 in Andrews, a daughter of the late Clarence Barrineau and the late Mellie Mac Player Barrineau.

Mrs. Weatherford was a retired employee with International Paper with 45 years of service. She was a member of the Quarter Dance Club for a number of years. Mrs. Weatherford was also a member of Wayne United Methodist Church, the Williams Sunday School Class, the church choir, and was a former financial secretary.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, John S. Weatherford; two sons, John M. Weatherford of Georgetown and David A. (Beth) Weatherford of Wilmington, N.C.; a daughter, Linda W. (Michael) Palumbo of Mt. Pleasant; four grandchildren, Lillie Weatherford, Grayson Weatherford, Alex Palumbo and John Palumbo; one brother, Robert H. (Janet) Barrineau of Georgetown; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Wayne United Methodist church. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service, from 1 until 2:30 p.m., in the Church Fellowship Hall.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to a special group of ladies known as the ''Lunch Bunch.''

John, Johnny, David, and Linda, Know that you are in our hearts and prayers. We were so saddened to hear the news and very sorry that we were unable to attend the services. Joyce was "One in a Million". She will forever be in our hearts. She leaves such a beautiful family and know that she was so proud of each of you. We hope to see you soon.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Joyce, she will certainly be missed. I know from experience also, that the Lunch Bunch ladies were a big help to you. I bet she and mother and daddy are rejoycing, and catching up on old times. (Grier and Louise Mcwhite).
