Lorraine Marotte Obituary

Lorraine Flory Marotte, 91, of Lowell, MA and Deland, FL, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at St. Thomas Hospital, Rutherford while a resident of the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Lorraine was born in Lowell on September 11, 1923 to Albert and Loretta Flory. She was a Veteran of WWII, serving in Washington, D.C. in the office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Lorraine served a total of 14 years on active and active reserve duty, achieving the rank of Chief Yeoman. She was a retiree from the Lowell School System, as well. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar F. Marotte, her sister, Evelyn Miller and her brother, Albert Flory. She is survived by her sister, Muriel Salome of N. Chelmsford, MA, her brother, George and wife, Jean Flory of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, her brother, Walter and wife, Geraldine Flory of Ipswich, MA, her five sons and their wives, William and Elizabeth Marotte of Deland, Fl, Barry Marotte of Port Orange, FL, Robert and Sandra Marotte of Nashua, NH, Bruce and Melissa Marotte of Dedham, MA, and Brian and Rachel-Marie Marotte of Memphis, TN. She is also survived by her thirteen grand-children. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Church, 374 Stevens St., Lowell, MA at 10 AM July 24, 2015, followed by interment at Westlawn Cemetery with military Honor Guard.
