Marshall Thompkins Obituary

CONWAY | Marshall M. Thompkins age 79, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at Conway Medical Center.

Mr. Marshall was born in Conway, a son of the late William Whiteford and Ola Hyman Thompkins. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Juniper Bay Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Fowler Motors as service manager.

Surviving are his wife, Daisy S. Thompkins; one son, Jack Marshall Thompkins and his wife, Betty, of Cerro Gordo, N.C.; one daughter, Elizabeth ''Betty'' Thompkins Butler and her husband, Leon, of Conway; one grandson, Sean Hardwick of Fort Mill, S.C.; three great-grandchildren, Autumn Hardwick, Noah Hardwick and Stella Hardwick; one brother, Archie Thompkins of Conway; two sisters, Bessie Lambert and Estalene Terry both of Georgetown, S.C.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Juniper Bay Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Hord officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Juniper Bay Baptist Church, 5265 Juniper Bay Road, Conway, SC 29527.
