I got to be friends with Marvin during my years at WKZQ radio. He'd stop by the station and I'd stop by his place on the boulevard and we'd shoot the breeze for hours. I especially loved our conversations about Texas and Bat Cave, NC. If you had a post office box in Myrtle Beach at the main post office, then the ultimate treat was running into Marvin. He always had a great story and a joke and a smile. It's been a while since I last saw Marvin, but based on my conversations with him, I pretty sure that I'll see him again. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
