I had Mrs. Ballen as my typing teacher back in 1983. What a sweet lady she was. Heaven has certainly gained a beautiful angel. God bless her family.

Lauren,
May the Lord keep and strengthen you and Ron in your time of sorrow. Mrs. Ballen was one of the nicest ladies I've ever met. She was also tough when she needed to be. I remember talking with her in the Hospital a few months back, she seemed strong willed even then. I know that she is in Heaven waiting on us all. You guys should be proud that your MOther touched so many lives in a positive way.
God Bless you and know that I and my family have you in our prayers always.

May the peace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and comfort of the Holy Spirit rest with you during this time. Most of the entrepreneurs who graduated from Whittemore High received much of their basic training from Mrs. Ballen. She is another pillar of our community who will be sorely missed.

On behalf of the Engineering Department at Oscar Mayer Foods in Madison, Wisconsin we wish to express our condolences to the Ballen family on the passing of Ron's mother, Mary. Ron is a valued member of the engineering group here in Madison. Although I dont think any of us ever met Mary, Ron has shared stories with us on many occassions. No doubt she was a kind yet tough minded women - afterall she put up with Ron all those many years. Though she will be missed, we hope there is solace in knowing she passed peacefully without suffering and is in a better place. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

It still tickles me to remember while in class, I would raise my hand, and without thought, blurt out, "Aunt Mary...I mean, Mrs. Ballen." :) Those were the days. Aunt Mary will TRULY be missed. My prayers are with you, Lauren and Ronnie, and may you find peace and comfort in knowing that your mother is at peace and that she touched so many lives.

Mrs. Ballen was never my classroom teacher, but she taught me humility, fortitude, patience and kindness everytime I was in her presence. Hers was a life to emulate. I continue to strive to be more like her.
Ronnie and Lauren have much to be proud of, and a huge loss to contend with. God bless Mrs. Mary Ballen's soul, and the future of her loving family.
