Mary Lee Strickland Harrelson, 88, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Tidelands Hospice House.
Born April 27, 1927 in Columbus County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Lonnie R. Strickland and the late Mary Jane Strickland.
Mrs. Harrelson was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Carvers Bay. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and cooking for her family and friends.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda Fore of Georgetown; two sons, Frank J. "Buddy" Harrelson Jr. (Harriett) of Vidalia, Georgia and Randy Harrelson (Mindy) of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Dollie Branson (Jason), Kitty Lariscey (Mat), Lee Harrelson (Courtnee), Mandy Shuler (Jonathan), Valene Harrelson, and Derek Harrelson (Amanda); her great grandchildren, Chance Branson, Melanie Lariscey, Abbe Branson, Madelyn Lariscey, Ella Jane Beasley, Maylee Lariscey, and Thomas Lariscey; one sister, Josephine Scott (John) of Mansfield, Ohio; one brother, Larry "Nicky" Strickland (Nancy) of Georgetown; a special caregiver, Sheila Wragg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Joe Harrelson, Sr.; a brother, David C. Strickland Sr.; two sisters, Edna Mae Newman and Mollie S. Moody; and one grandchild, April Leigh Harrelson.
A visitation will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Graham Funeral Home, 2200 S. Fraser Street, from 4-6pm. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. James Herring, will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 2pm at Graham Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at the Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
