Mary Ethel Williamson Tallon, 85, died at the Methodist Manor in Florence, SC, Friday, May 25, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the Main Street United Methodist Church in Dillon, SC with interment in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service at the Church. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.
Mrs. Tallon was born in Florence, SC, November 4, 1926, the daughter of the late John Gee and Gertrude Ayers Williamson. She was the widow of Robert M. Tallon. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, a graduate of Coker College, and retired from teaching with more than forty years in Lake View and Dillon Schools. She loved to play Bridge, was an avid reader, and enjoyed flower gardening. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She is survived by her sons, former U. S. Congressman Robin Tallon of Florence, SC and Washington, DC, and Terry (Brenda) Tallon of Greenville, SC; her daughter, Cameron T. (Butch) Minshew of Florence, SC; ten grandchildren, Robert M. Tallon III, Tatum T. Darby, Thomas A. Tallon, Andrew D. Tallon, John G. Minshew, Kathryn M. Goff, David T. Tallon, Brian E. Tallon, Scott M. Tallon, and Russell A. Tallon; and fifteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, John G. Williamson.
