Muriel Greene Obituary

LITCHFIELD | Muriel Maines Greene, 81, a resident of The Lakes at Litchfield and beloved wife of 55 years, of the late C. Frank Greene passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2008 following an illness.

Born January 21, 1927 in Binghamton, New York, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lucille Maines.

Mrs. Greene was a long time golfer, which she enjoyed into her later years as a member of Litchfield Country Club. She was also a lifetime member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Otseningo Chapter No. 14 of Binghamton, N.Y.

She and her husband were members of Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three sons, John Greene of Baltimore, Md., James Greene of Elizaville, N.Y., and Jay Greene of Buford, Ga., four grandchildren, Jennifer, Naomi, Vaughn, and C. Keaton; and one great-grandson, Darrian. She is also survived by her sister, Narda Armour of Binghamton, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a fourth son, Jeffrey Greene; and one brother, Eldredge ''Sy'' Maines.

A memorial service will be held noon Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Pawleys Island Presbyterian Church.
