Robert Neil Daft, Sr.
Morgantown, WV
Robert Neil Daft, Sr., 65 of Morgantown, WV , went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Monongalia General Hospital.
He was born February 14, 1947 in Philippi, WV to the late Audra Elizabeth Daft and James Junior Daft. Robert was an auto mechanic for his lifetime, working for various auto repair shops in Morgantown, WV and Loudin County, Va. He was a Vietnam veteran serving from 1965 to 1969 in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann (Hackney) Daft. They were married for 41 years on July 2, 2012. They were best friends and soul mates. Also surviving are daughter, Jacqueline Marie Forrester and fiancé, Russell Kunkel of Morgantown; his God given daughter, Devona Ann Coffey and husband, Joshua of Waynesboro, VA and two sons , Robert Neil Daft, Jr. and wife, Julie of Conway and Jonathan Ray Daft of Myrtle Beach. His ten grandchildren who were the light of his life, Alexxys Clutter, Jessyka Lydon, Landyn Kunkel of Morgantown, WV, James David Daft of Conway and Katie, Allison, Mackenzie and Zachary Coburn and Dylan and Josie Coffey of Waynesboro, Va. Also surviving are his siblings, Shirley Crouse, Judith Franklin, Billie Daft and Jerry Daft all of Morgantown and RoseMary Daft of Box Elder ,SD; numerous nieces and nephews. His wife's brother, John Hackney, Jr. is his brother in the eyes of God. He loved his family more than anything.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Joshua Coffey of Waynesboro, Va., and his siblings Sheila Yeager, Thelma Crites, Ivan Daft, James Daft, Thomas Daft, David Daft and two infants.
Friends may call at the Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and again on Thursday from 11am until the time of services at 12 noon with his son, Jonathan Ray Daft officiating. Cremation will follow.
