Robert J. Fagnant "Bob" of Myrtle Beach SC died at Conway Hospital on August 23, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Bob was born on January 1, 1938 in Chicopee MA (1st baby born in Hamden County that year). Son of the late Rene and Bernadette (Favreau) Fagnant; predeceased by a daughter Dianna Shiver of Myrtle Beach SC: sisters Anita Pasterczyk of Chicopee MA and Eileen Nagel of Tenn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Mary (Marciniak) Fagnant of the home. His daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Cooke and Michael Ovell of Myrtle Beach SC; his daughter Cheryl Baker of Myrtle Beach SC; his son Robert Jr. (Kimberly) Fagnant of Myrtle Beach SC; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Lucille (Joe) Barna; and brother, Gerald (Ilyne) Fagnant.
Bob served in the navy and was a hospital corpsman spending time with the fleet marines where he became interested in the medical profession. He returned to college in MA at the age of 30 to pursue nursing, he was an RN for 37 years. His last place of employment was Conway Medical Center.
Bob had 2 loves in his life, his family and his work in nursing. He had hobbies of wood working, golf and fishing. He was a parishioner of St. Michaels, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Arrangements handled by Myrtle Beach Funeral Home and Crematorium in Myrtle Beach SC.

My sincere condolences to Bob's family. He was a great guy, warm, friendly with a good sense of humor. He worked nights at CMC and I worked days. I always enjoyed his little notes he left for me if there was something he needed in the Supervisor's Office. May God be with the family during this difficult time.

Bob woke me up many nights and I will always remember that voice.....Vicki, this is Bob at the hospital. We need you to come in for a case! Sometimes I'd scream and he would laugh! He was always funny, even at 2 AM. I pray for his family and friends. He was a great guy.

I will miss your kind eyes and warm smile. You are home now with my mom, no more pain. You were a great grandfather and father to me. Will forever miss you.
