Ruth Baker Obituary

GEORGETOWN | Ruth Ward Baker, 89, died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.



She was born March 26, 1914 in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Henry Richard Morris and Daisy Gertrude Fulton Morris.



Mrs. Baker was a charter member of Wayne United Methodist Church and the Curtis Bell Sunday School Class. She was a 1931 graduate of Andrews High School and was a homemaker.



She was first married to the late Eugene R. Ward and was the widow of Bryce Baker.



Survivors include one son, Roger Ward and his wife, Becky of Georgetown; two daughters, Barbara Mishoe and her husband, Neil of Greeleyville, and Edna Freeman and her husband, Al of Georgetown; one stepson, Thomas Baker and his wife, Gaynell of Hemingway; one brother, Robert Morris of Bloomingvale; one sister, Wava Parker of Georgetown; ten grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.



She as predeceased by an infant son, Morris Ward.



The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 in Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Steve Holler. Burial, directed by Graham Funeral Home, will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

I was so sorry to hear about Aunt Ruth. If there is anything Kathy and I can do, please call. It was an honor to be a pall bearer at her funeral. We all loved her.
