Samuel Proctor Obituary

MYRTLE BEACH | Samuel Leroy Proctor, 81, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at his residence.

Born in Shelby, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Ernest and Mae Proctor.

Mr. Proctor was a retired U.S. Air Force Major Sergeant. He served in the Korea and Vietnam War. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include a son, Duane Proctor of Surfside Beach; a daughter, Carolyn Woods of Franklinville, N.C.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Proctor of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a sister, Bea Parsons, Burbank, Calif.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel, with Dr. Bill Stillner officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Ocean Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

sam & I worked side by side for over
20 years at the captains quarters. he
loved his "girls" and he always flirted
with all of us. he was a teddy bear of a man, and I shall miss him so much.
