Jan: It's been so many years, and I am deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Your father's friend Charles Link told our choir at Central UMC about it this evening. I viewed the online memorial service, and I wish I had known Wade. It's obvious he touched so many lives in a positive way in such a short time. I think he had a good understanding of God's purpose for his life. I pray for God to give you the strength to endure.

Dear Cecil, Jan, Riley and family,
Wade was a wonderful gifted young man. I remember working along side him in missions. He was one of God's angels. He made life better. I remember his smile, his warmth and inclusiveness, his creativity that obviously became his life's work, and oh....his sense of humor. He was God's gifts to us. There really are no words for things like this...except God, faith, hope and love. My love and prayers will be with you Cecil and with you Jan and with you Riley and your whole family. My prayer is that God will protect you, sustain you, uphold you and be present with you in the days ahead. Love, Cokie

Dear Wade's Parents,
I am very sorry for your loss. Wade was a fine young man, and I enjoyed working with him on "Mattress" this summer. Wade had a beautiful baritone voice, and I always tried to stand beside him during warm-ups to stay in tune. He sang effortlessly and with joy. There were so many notes he helped me find... I had looked forward to working with him again--and am very sad to know this won't be possible.

My heart goes out to your family. I am glad to have met Wade, and will miss him. The music of "Mattress" will always make me think of him.

Jan and Cecil
Your precious family means so much to me, and I am heartbroken at the loss of your wonderful Wade. I saw him at Lake Junaluska 2 years ago with a group from Pfiffer, and he was charming and engaging as always. His loss has left a horrible void, but his life touched so many that he will live on in our fond memories and love.

We are praying for you and Riley, for Big Tom and Jean, and all your family continuously.
Grace and Peace,

September 15, 2008

Jan, Cecil, and Riley,

Words cannot convey the depth of
our sorrow nor articulate the intercessions of our hearts.

Noah and I are devastated. He was such a good Big Brother.

We loved this gentle giant
and are grateful for each minute we were in his presence.

For such a young person, he had mastered the art of loving. His love, like Christ's, was so unconditional, I an certain that
as parents you taught him acceptance. Yet, I believe his capacity was so great because the Holy Spirit dwelled within him.

Wade has taught us so much and he will continue his ministry in the days and years to come as we reflect and cherish the times we spent together.... we, like you, hold on to the wit and words of Wadedom.

Coming down Holden Rd., I glanced up to see a small black sign with white lettering:

John 3:16.

Wade is complete and perfect and we rejoice in his resurrection
and the promise of our reunion.

May God grant us all peace and may the loving arms of Jesus cradle you in your grief.

Karen Davis

September 13, 2008

This goes out to Cecil Donahue and his son Wade. I will never forget how your were like a father to me in Armenia and your son added so much spirit to our choir at Pfeiffer. I found out about it at my home church First United Methodist Church, in Charlotte, NC. I can't believe how many people Wade has impacted. He made me laugh, made me mad plenty of times during our upper level classes with Ed Keiffer and Dr. Raines, and band was just a little bit better with him in it. The night of choir practice when I found out about it I had choose to wear my yellow Pfeiffer shirt by coicidense, which has this saying on the back "Don't mess, with the best"
My heart goes out to your church which is family to Pfeiffer choir students, everytime we came, feeding us til we could eat no more. Lots of love, Karen Davis (Class of 2006)

Wendy and I had the privilege to meet and be introduced to Wade at Pfeiffer where our daughter attended also. They were friends and it was easy to see why. Nothing but time can reduce the pain of losing Wade, except the joy of knowing he loved each of you, and he believed and lived his faith.

Cecil and Family,
Many thoughts and prayers are with you today & tomorrow. Life is sometimes a bumpy road, but God seems to pave our way. May our Father give you strength as you go through this time in your life.

Such a wonderful young man. Lived his faith daily. Memories of watching him in the band and laughing at stories told from the pulpit. I hope you all feel the loving arms that surround you and grieve with you.
