Thomas Grither Obituary
Surfside Beach
Thomas Henry Grither age 92, died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Myrtle Beach Manor.
Born in St. Louis, MO, he was a son of the late Henry and Clara Grither. Mr. Grither was a U.S. Army veteran. He coached football for a Parochial School in Maryland for many years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Michael Catholic Church. He loved gardening, woodworking and crabbing. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Thomas Grither and a brother, Ray Grither.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, M. Ann Grither; children, Robert Grither of Windsor, CO and Robin Grither of Surfside Beach, SC; a grandchild, Landon; brother-in-law, Marvin Jones and wife, Ann; and cousin, Larry Kist and his daughter and siblings.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 18, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church. The family will receive guests 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Grither Family: My family was Tom's next door neighbor for many years here in Surfside Beach! Tom was a Great man and we loved him as if he was our father! He was a real Gentleman! I often visited him in his home talking current events & college football! Tom loved his Missouri birth place & home. I miss Tom tremendously, My Great Neighbor !
