Vicki Bowers Obituary
Born Jan. 25, 1958 in Clarksburg, W.Va., she was a daughter of Georgia Elbon Baker of Reynoldsville, W.Va., and the late Harold Baker.
Vicki came to Myrtle Beach from W.Va., in 1987. She was an 8th grade teacher at Myrtle Beach Middle School and attended St. Andrew Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach.
Besides her mother, survivors include her husband, James R. Bowers; three daughters, Jami Adair and her husband, Travis, Nicole Bowers, Randi Marie Bowers, all of Myrtle Beach; three siblings, Gary Baker of Clarksburg, W.Va., Cathy Wells of Salem, W.Va., Kevin Baker of Sardis, W.Va.
A funeral service will be at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 7th. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Conway. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, July 5th and 6th, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home.

I just wanted to tell you girls how sorry I am for your loss, I lost my mom a few years ago and I know that she is with me each and everyday. Maybe not physically but spiritally. Vicki Bowers was an Amazing Teacher! She had so much potenial. She worked real hard everyday and had a wonderful husband. There is very little anyone can say or do to ease the pain at a time like this. Even if it helps a little, please know, you're in the thoughts and prayers of many. Dear Randy and "Girls",
I was deeply saddened to hear of Vicki's passing. It seems like only yesterday that I remember the halls of MBM with Randi Marie moving full steam ahead. I count my blessings for the time that we shared at MBM. Randy, you and Vickie were always there to give me support and love and I am here share my deepest thoughts and prayers with you and your family.
After reading the paper tonight, I went out to the Inlet and found the brightest STAR shining above. I know that "STAR" will always be with you no matter where you are. Please look up, see that STAR and find comfort and peace as you continue to love Vicki from afar.

Even though my wife Sally and I only met Vicki and Jim 3 or 4 times, I will always remember her for her strength. Being a Lung Cancer Survivor myself, she called me shortly after receiving the news. Our talks were never negative and her voice always assuring that she was happy with life and was going to enjoy every breathe of air for as long as she could. She is and will always be a survivor in my eyes.

Vicki was a very special person to our whole family. She was there for my son when he needed her the most when I was very sick. She was so strong willed and so dedicated to her teaching, that she probably was at work doing what she loved to do the most even though she didn't feel well, or was so sick.
