Werner Ebner Obituary

COLUMBIA | MSgt. Werner Georg Ebner Sr., USMC (Ret), 67, died Sunday, December 3, 2006.

Born in Wesermunde, Germany, he was a son of the late Erich Hermann Ebner and Annemarie Heinsohn.

He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps and was a programmer analyst. An avid golfer, he loved traveling and reading.

Mr. Ebner attended Riverland Hills Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley H. Ebner; sons and daughters-in-law, Werner Ebner Jr. and Christina Ebner of Virginia Beach, Va. and Alan D. and Jennifer Ebner of Pensacola, Fla.; daughters and son-in-law, Jannette E. and Rudy Wolter of Wesley Chapel, Fla. and Lori A. Ebner of Phoenix, Ariz.; stepsons, Greg Huggins and his wife, Reida, of Nichols and Jeff Huggins and his wife, Wanda, of Conway; stepdaughter, Mandy Huggins Hall and her husband, Jay, of Jackson, Tenn.; brother, Erich Ebner of New York; and eighteen grandchildren.

He was predeceased by brother, Horst Ebner.

Services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, 201 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, S.C. 29063. The family will receive friends during a luncheon following the service.
