William Hardee Obituary
Conway
William Edward "Peanut" Hardee, 82, of Old Reaves Ferry Road, died Thursday, July 19, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Hardee was born in Conway, a son of John Perry Hardee, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Bratcher Hardee. He was a member and Deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Hardee was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and served in the National Guard. He was a truck driver with Stilley Plywood and Aberdeen Manufacturing. Mr. Hardee enjoyed farming. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Hardee was preceded in death by two brothers; three sisters, and a son-in-law, Carl Dean Hughes.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Bernice Hardee of Conway; one daughter, Cindy Hughes Bell and husband Bill of Conway; two grandsons, Brian Hughes and wife Sarah of Conway and Kyle Hughes of Florence; one great-grandson, Maddox Hughes of Conway; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Stanley and Rev. Neal Nolan officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
