Alice Jean Larson, 88, of Sandwich, IL passed away on August 15, 2021. Alice was born on February 6, 1933, in Henry, IL to Raymond and Bernice (Sloan) Daily. She was united in marriage to Russell (Red) Larson on August 16, 1951, in Yorkville, IL. They spent the next 51 years together raising their children and working together at Larson's Phillips 66 and mini-mart that they owned and operated for 32 years. In 1998, red retired, leaving the repair business to their son, Dwain, and selling the mini-mart. She continued to do Dwain's books at the repair shop up until 2 years ago. She has been a member with the Sandwich Moose Lodge 1016 since 1965 and just received her lifetime membership pin. Red and her enjoyed going down to the Coal City Area Club with Dick and Donna Gilchrist where they camped and would water ski. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Alice is survived by 3 children, Gary (Sherry) Larson of Sandwich, IL, Dwain (Leslie) Larson of Sandwich, IL, and Laurie Larson Stiles of Sandwich, IL; 7 grandchildren, Rhonda, Erik, Sarah, Sheri, Robert, Jessica and Jamie; 5 great-grandchildren, Russell, Billy, Anthony, Matthew and Joey; 1 brother, Larry (LaVerta) Daily; As well as 2 sisters, Donna (Richard) Gilchrist and Joanne (Jerry) Helland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Her husband, Russell (Red) Larson (2003); 1 daughter, Mary Shelton (1987); 1 son-in-law, Dennis Shelton (2017); 1 grandson, Daniel Shelton (2021); And 1 sister, Betty.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry Street Sandwich, IL 60548. Funeral service will follow at 12:30 P.M. with a burial out to Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jessica Larson, Jamie Larson, Robert Paul, Anthony Shelton, Mitchell Johns, and Sheri Larson.
