Died: September 9, 2021 in Spring Valley, IL
Della Louise "Snooky" Wawerski, 84, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Aperion Care of Spring Valley.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, September 14 at the Ottawa Funeral Home, with Deacon Ron Wackerlin officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 am, prior to services, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Masks will be required to attend Della's funeral services.
Della was born April 2, 1937, in Seneca to Louis and Edna (Raikes) Vicich. She married Jim Wawerski on November 24, 1953 in Ottawa, and together they have spent 67 wonderful years.
Della was active in many sports, including golf, bowling, fishing, bird watching, cross-country skiing, and archery. Della loved spending time outside tending to her flowers in her many garden beds. Her and her husband enjoyed traveling together over the years. She also enjoyed her estate auctions and collecting antiques.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; four sons, James, Marvin, George, and Richard (Christina) Wawerski; her daughter, Peg (Tom) Schommer; ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim and Mike Vicich; and two sisters, Sheila Taylor and Cathy Hetley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Richard; one sister, Connie; and a brother, Pat .
Memorials may be directed to her family.

We´re so sorry to hear of your mom´s and wife´s passing and sorry we can´t be there to share with you at the service but know we love you all and will never forget out times together as kids and families visiting in the old days! I can hear her laughing , that smile and when she says my name pammy ! We remember the last time sitting out in her garden at the table sharing memories me and mom! Hope we can see one another again before we go home to our Lord but continue to know we love you all! Pam and boys and mom! God bless and keep you!
