Doris Sobinsky, 98, of Marseilles, IL, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Grapevine, TX.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 15 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational in Marseilles with Pastor Pamela Haug officiating. Seals-Campbell Funeral Home is assisting with local arrangements.
She was born on November 17, 1926, in Ottawa, IL, to James and Mary (Juergenson) Morton. In 1948, she married Andrew J. Sobinsky of Marseilles who preceded her in death.
She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She retired from the National Biscuit Company in 1988, enjoying 37 years of retirement. Doris lived a long, happy life with all of the things she loved which included her family, Bridge games with her treasured friends, seeing the Cubs win a World Series, and feeding her birds.
Doris was a true matriarch of her family, and an amazingly strong and independent woman. She was a wonderful, selfless mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Kercheval of Keller, TX; her son, Dr. Kim (Janice) Sobinsky of Lake Forest, IL; four grandchildren, Erica Albert, Justin (Mila) Sobinsky, Lindsay Sobinsky, and Jonathon (Gabby) Sobinsky; and six great-grandchildren, Victoria, Madeline, Daniel, Reese, Jack, and Charlotte Sobinsky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew, and her sister.
