Frances Ligori Obituary

Frances E. Ligori
Born: July 19, 1934
Died: February 26, 2023
Frances Ellen Ligori, 88, formerly of Streator passed away Sunday, February 26th, 2023 at Lower Cape Fear Life Care Hospice House in Bolivia, North Carolina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 29th at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Streator.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 29th at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery, Streator.
Born July 19, 1934 in Streator she was the daughter of Clarence Lawless and Esther (Grennan) Gayon.
She married Clifford Ligori on October 10, 1959 in Ottawa, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1994.
She is survived by a daughter Paula (Suzie) Kocek, son-in-law, Jeff Kocek; four grandchildren, Kurt Kocek, Kyle (Haley) Kocek, Keith (Natalie) Kocek, and Katie Kocek; 4 great grandchildren Hattie Kocek, Wyatt Kocek, RaeLynn Kocek and Reece Kocek.
Born and raised in Streator, she attended St. Mary's grade school and Streator High School.
She worked numerous jobs throughout her lifetime; Thatchers and Owens glass factories, St. Mary's Hospital and Camelot Manor Nursing Home as a nurse's aide and beautician. She also did private nursing duty. She worked at both of the hotels in Streator at the front desk too.
Being an Irish redhead carried many of the following personality traits. A red hot temper and stubbornness with a heart, warmth, charm and wit that shined through any of her frustrating traits. She was fiercely loyal to those she loved and she loved deeply. She carried a laid back attitude towards time. If she told you 20 minutes, plan on an hour, but she was worth the wait. She had several loves besides the love of family which also defined her. Her main loves were bingo, horses, dogs, jewelry, music, sweepstakes, lottery, lipstick and fun in general. Not specifically in that order. She carried the gift of gab and would talk to anyone. She never knew a stranger. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Her spirit will live on through our hearts. When you see your next sunset, sunflower or rainbow know that she is watching too because she especially loved these.

I was a Lawyer and Judge in Ottawa Il. Your mother was one of my favorite clients. What a gal. After I represented her, she sent me notice that she had Novenas said for my family and I. I finally met my match with your wonderfully talkative Mother. I hope God is ready for her. James Brusatte.
