Gregory Churchill, 71, of Marseilles, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 5th at his home. He was born on June 10, 1950, in Ottawa to Francis "Bill" and Inez (Wright) Churchill.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Greg graduated from Marquette High School, Class of '68, and continued his education, graduating in 1971 from DeVry University of Chicago. After completing school, he went to work at Libbey Owens Ford, and later retired from Arcelor-Mittal in Hennepin.
Greg is survived by his wife, Patricia Churchill; his children, Soozy (Reid Jacob) Churchill of Baltimore, his son, Jeff, of Marseilles, and his son, Mike (Sommer) Churchill of Marseilles; grandchildren, Ethan, Samuel, Abigail, and Gunner Churchill; his sister, Linda Churchill; his brother, Thomas Churchill; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Churchill; and many nieces and nephews.
Reading was Greg's favorite pastime, mainly history and world politics. Hobbies included shooting, bowling, billiards, motorcycle riding, and getting his hands dirty working on his vehicles. Time away from home was spent as a member of the Sandy Fords Sportsman Club and Downers Grove Sportsman Club. Greg mostly enjoyed spending time with his parents and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Doug Churchill (2012); and a nephew, Paul Babcock.
A celebration is to be announced.
