Mrs. Glenda Jean Boyd Woolard, age 82, a resident of Washington, NC died Friday October 3, 2025, at ECU Health Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
Mrs. Woolard’s wishes were for no service to be held.
Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County on August 11, 1943, daughter of the late William Warren Boyd and the late Pearl Hunter Respess Boyd. She was a 1961 graduate of Washington High School and later worked as an administrative assistant at Hamilton Beach in Washington. Mrs. Woolard loved being on the river, gardening collecting anything she thought was of value and flying in a plane. She was a member of a Washington singles club.
Survivors include her children: Darlene Elks and her husband David of Chocowinity, and son: Darrell Wayne Woolard, Jr. of Washington; sister: Janice Tyson and her husband Russell of Washington; grandchildren: Charlie Elks and his wife Regina of Chocowinity, Emilie Elks Pendley of Chocowinity, Brandon Elks and his wife Andrea of Chocowinity, and Amber Woolard Idol of Greenville; and great grandchildren: Grace Elks, Caleb Pendley, Jacob Pendley, Sam Elks, Haleigh Pendley, Charlotte Elks, Maggie Elks, Peyton Barnes, and Emma Elks; She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by a brother: Donald Rufus Boyd; and sisters: Judy Cassano, and Lois Boyd.

I’m so sorry to see of Glenda’s passing. I have loved your family so much through the years and we’ve had to say farewell to many of them, but they’re all rejoicing in heaven today together..

Glenda and I worked at Hamilton Beach. She and I had some good laughs and fun while there. She was always pleasant and a pleasure to be around. She will always be remembered. Family, remember her often..... memories sustain us and keep her alive in our thoughts.
