Jack Walters
Born: June 15, 1940 in Streator, IL
Died: July 28, 2025 in Streator, IL
Jack Walters, 85 of Streator passed away Monday (July 28, 2025) at his home.
Following cremation, a visitation will be held Friday from 11A.M. until 12noon at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Services will be held at noon with military honors following services. Burial will be in Greenfield Cemetery, La Moille.
Jack was born on June 15, 1940, in Streator to John and Alice (Wilson) Walters. He married Barbara Jean Furhmann in 1986. She preceded him in death on October 26, 2007.
Surviving are sons Johnny M Walters and E. Miliano Walters, 2 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, brother Robert, sisters, Rose Katanich, Margaret Salisbury, Betty Ingram and Jennie Eccleston.
Jack attended Streator grade schools and Streator High School. He served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. Jack was formerly employed at Ace Hardware and owned and operated Jack's Glass and Screen repair shop in Streator and was co-owner of the Hardscrabble Restaurant. He enjoyed woodworking making things for family and friends.
Memorials may be made to the VFW.
