Jean Marie Pendleton, 84, of Marseilles, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at her home.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 23 at Seals-Campbell Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish in Marseilles with Fr. Mattingly officiating. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood.
She was born on September 9, 1940, in Sibley, IA, to Edward and Marcella (Fettes) Kreber. On January 14, 1967, she married William Pendleton Jr. in Santa Monica, CA, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Jean was a member of St. Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Parish. She worked as a nurse for 50 years total and an ER nurse at Morris Hospital for more than 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed convertible cars, gardening, the outdoors, coffee on the patio, traveling, good times, parties, weddings, birthdays, and dancing. She loved her family, kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and was called "Grandma Jean" by many.
She is survived by her three children, William III (Laura) Pendleton, Leilani Pendleton, and Paul Pendleton; four grandchildren, Billy, Chris, Kate, and William; five great-grandchildren, Jayden, Skyler, Georgina, Oliver, and Frances; a brother, James Kreber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; two brothers, and a sister.
Memorials may be directed to St. Therese of Lisieux in Marseilles or for masses for Jean and William.
