Marlene D. Knox
Born: November 30, 1945 in Ottawa, IL.
Died: October 7, 2025 in Marseilles, IL.
Marlene D. Knox, 79, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at her daughter's home in Marseilles surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. Monday, October 13th at the Crossbridge Community Church in Ottawa.
Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Monday, October 13th at Crossbridge Community Church in Ottawa.
Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in Ottawa. Pallbearers will be her son, William Knox; grandchildren, Michael, Jacob and Matthew Knox; Ryan and Derek Rieuf; A.J. Trumbo and a son in law, Mike Rix.
Born November 30, 1945 in Ottawa she was the daughter of William and Margaret (Meagher) Lambert. She married William L. Knox, Sr. on August 7, 1965 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2014.
She is survived by a son, William L. (Julie) Knox, Jr. of Streator; daughters, Deborah Rieuf of Ottawa, Kelly (Chris) Pearson of Paso Robles, California, Nicole Trumbo of Marseilles and Stephanie (Michael Rix) Knox of Marseilles; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren due in December; a sister, Linda Plymire of Ransom; 3 nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Justin Trumbo; a son in law, William Trumbo and a brother-in-law, Mickey Plymire.
Born and raised in Ottawa she attended St. Columba Grade School and graduated from Ottawa High School.
She worked as a waitress in her younger years at Dutch's Tap and Green Diamond restaurant. She later worked for Wal-Mart and Reliable.
She was a member of the former St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa and currently belonged to Crossbridge Community Church. She was active with Crossbridge in various women's groups and bible studies.
She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, reading and baking and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
