Melvin Kueteman
Melvin W. (Dick) Kueteman of Serena, IL at rest peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Illinois Veterans Home, LaSalle, IL. He was born in Plumerville, AR the son of the late William and Irma (nee Cates) Kueteman.
Melvin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the US Army, serving from 1962 until 1968 and was stationed in TX, Greenland and Korea where he learned his trade. He was a member of Local 150-Operating Engineers for 50 years. He also ran his own trucking business.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s.
He is survived by his children; Angela Marshall, Curtis (Beth) Kueteman and Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kueteman; six grandchildren; Jack, Mary and Michael Marshall, Kendall, Zach (Mallory) and Janelle Kueteman; great grandfather of 3.
He is predeceased by his Wife of 60 years, Georgia (nee Wethington) Kueteman, his parents and brothers, James F Kueteman and William C Kueteman.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, December 13th at Gabel-Dunn Funeral Home 333 W. Church Street Sheridan, IL from 10:30 A.M. until time-of-service 11:30 A.M. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Army.
