Nancy A. Muntz
Born: May 21, 1943 in Streator, IL.
Died: March 5, 2024 in Peoria, IL.
Nancy A. Muntz, 80, of Streator passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at O.S.F. St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, March 12th at St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Streator. Msgr. Philip Halfacre will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Solon-Telford Funeral Home, Streator.
Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Streator. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Born May 21, 1943 in Streator she was the daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth (Gothier) Scheid. She married William J. "Bill" Muntz on November 24, 1962. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2004.
She is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Tim) Fechter of Streator; sons, Daniel (Theresa) Muntz of Streator, Douglas (Julie) Muntz of Minonk, Darren (Jenny) Muntz of Bloomington and Dustin (Katie) Muntz of Streator; grandchildren, Joshua Kmetz of Streator, Joe (Sheena Kress) Kmetz of Ottawa, Jonathan Kmetz of Streator, Nathan (Jenny) Muntz of Streator, Drew (Sarahi Chavez) Muntz of Streator, Owen (Kaylee Martin) Muntz of Streator, Trevor (Marisa Cervantes) Muntz of Wheeling, Hannah (Mason) Tiraboschi of Rutland, Samantha (Daniel) Sorensen of Bloomington, Morgan Muntz of Bloomington, Nicholas Muntz of Bloomington, Landon Muntz of Streator and Kolton Muntz of Streator; great grandchildren, Ethan Kmetz, Harlee Kmetz and Beckett Sorensen and Lona Kress; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; and brothers, James, William and Lawrence Scheid.
Born and raised in Streator she attended St. Anthony Grade School and Streator High School. She later attended Beauty School in Rockford.
She worked as a beautician for a while before embarking on an over 40 year career at St. Mary's Hospital where she worked as a C.N.A. and Phlebotomist until her retirement.
Nancy enjoyed sewing, baking and shopping but nothing was more important than her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Junior Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
