Richard Walter Bentlin
Born: August 14, 1938 in Wenona, IL
Died: March 16, 2025 in Rockford, IL
Richard W. Bentlin, 86 of Streator passed away Sunday evening (March 16, 2025) at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center, Rockford.
A visitation will be held Friday from 9 – 11a.m. at the Winterrowd Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in the Cumberland Cemetery, Wenona.
Richard was born on August 14, 1938, in Wenona to Walter and Freda (Lester) Bentlin. He married Karyn Edmonds on October 25, 1959. She preceded him in death on December 24, 2020.
Surviving is daughter Kim (Jim) Spraggon of Streator, sons Bryan Bentlin of Chicago, Brad (Tracy) Bentlin of Marseilles and Ben Bentlin of Streator, grandchildren: Emily, Erica, Taylor, Julian, Alec, Ryan, Jeff, Brady and Bryce, 9 great-grandchildren: Donavin, Connor, Bentley, Madelyn, Jonathan, Winry, Micah, Maci and Mila and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Lillian.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karyn.
Richard graduated from Wenona High School and retired from Owen's Illinois Glass after 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and watching the Chicago White Sox.
Memorials may be made to either the Central Church of Christ or to a charity of the donors choice.
